Trauma & PTSD
I help people identify already existing coping strategies to resolve and release trauma that has gotten stuck in the body-mind. Trauma is not an event itself but a reaction to a traumatic event that is overwhelming to the nervous system. When we experience a traumatic event our body either integrates the information or stores it, often in a way that interferes with our daily functioning. Using Somatic Experiencing® and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) we can access and move through these stuck physical places so that we have the opportunity to integrate the information and form a new relationship to the life experiences that make us who we are.
